The Book of Jonas

The installation is based on Mihály Babits’ poem: The book of Jonas, which in this case is told by György Bánffy. In this audio-visual work that was commissioned by Trafó contemporary cultural center the position of balls determines the sounds and the projection. The X coordinates control the playback speed, while the Y coordinates control the filter cutoff. The background noises, them music and the generated animation are meant to enhance the poem’s atmosphere.

Between The Lines

This project is about looking at personal identity as a data source. The most obvious source of that is the clothes that we are wearing. The system is based on the color components of your clothes. The darker the clothes you are wearing the slower the melody is and the more colorful your clothes are the more complex the melody is. The system reads from bottom to top and determines these values once in every cycle while transforming your color components on the projected screen.
